Arley Eska Wooten

Arley Eska “Curley”Wooten passed away     Weatherford,  Texas on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the age of 95 years. Curley was preceded in death by his parents Parma Aron and Lee Eudora (nee George) Wooten; brothers Bill and Herschel and sister Polly; son Gerald Van Wooten; wife Virginia (nee Campbell) Wilcox Wooten (on June 12, 2013), and her son Gus E. Wilcox, Jr. Curley is survived by his daughter Gwendolyn June  Wooten McKee of San  ngelo and Virginia’s daughter Geraldine Wilcox Calhoun and her husband Denny of Las Cruces, New Mexico, a brother Arnold Wooten of Houston, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchild. Curley and Evelyn O’Harrow were married in 1939. To this union,  Gwendolyn June Wooten and Gerald Van Wooten were born. Curley and Virginia Campbell Wilcox were arried in El Paso, Texas in November 1964 and were members of San Angelo’s First Baptist Church. Curley was born  in Cisco, Texas on August 17, 1919. In his early years, he worked in local  Cisco businesses andcafes and then for the Creamery, and Bolinger’s Plumbing in San Angelo. Curley began his plumbing career digging ditches and after passing the Texas Master  lumbers Exam with the highest score in the state, opened Wooten Plumbing & Heating in San Angelo in 1954. Up until his retirement in 1977, Curley worked with all major businesses, contractors, and individuals in the greater San Angelo area and  across the State of Texas. After retirement Curley and Virginia greatly enjoyed traveling to each of the states, spending winters in the Lower Rio Grande Valley with their “motor home friends”,  nd visiting their families and friends.Graveside services were held at Cisco’s Oakwood Cemetery on Tuesday, June 2, 2015.
