Leona Mae Bowen Coan Obituary
Leona Mae Bowen Coan, 89, of De Leon, went home to her Lord and Savior
Thursday, December 3, 2015, with her family by her side. She was born
March 28, 1926, in Comanche County to Ewell Roy Bowen and Ada Mae
Morrow Bowen. Leona married Charles Wade Coan May 7, 1946.
Leona graduated from Duster High School and lived in the De Leon
community most all of her life. She was a long-time member of First
Baptist Church of De Leon where she was active in the Joy Sunday
School Class, church choir, and Women on Mission.
Leona was a devoted and loving homemaker for her family. She enjoyed
sewing, reading and cooking. Leona loved her family immeasurably and
her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.
She will be greatly missed by her family and many loving friends.
She is survived by her son, Ronnie Coan and wife, Barbara; daughter,
Connie Watson and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Christopher Coan,
Patrick Coan, Rachel Watson, Leah Stone, Stephen Watson, Grace Watson
and Jordan Watson; seven great-grandchildren, and other extended
family. Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wade Coan;
parents; and her sister, Clara Fay Moore.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 5, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at
First Baptist Church in De Leon with Brother Daniel Harper and Pastor
Richard Watson officiating. Interment followed in De Leon Cemetery. If
