GORMAN ISD BOARD APPOINTS NEW TRUSTEE TO FILL VACANCY

The Board of Trustees of Gorman ISD held their monthly meeting on September 8, 2014 at 6:30pm. The meeting began with the customary invocation and Pledge of Allegiance. The first item on the agenda was the discussion, consideration, and approval of appointing Mr. Eldon Straw to fill the trustee vacancy left by Jill Rainey. The board stated that they will miss Ms. Rainey, but are glad to have Mr. Straw. Mr. Straw stated that he wants to do his part to help Gorman students receive a good education. Mr. Straw believes that schools with a smalltown environment are a positive thing.
