EASTLAND – Lawson C. Brown, 83, of Eastland, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015 in Eastland. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Joe
Bernier officiating. Burial followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family received friends at Edwards Funeral Home Friday. Mr. Brown was born May 20, 1931 in Brown County to Melvin Owen Brown and
Lillie Bell (McGee) Brown. He graduated from Cross Plains High School, then attended Cisco Jr. College and Hardin Simmons University. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army. He married Joan Pauline Hardin on
May 14, 1953 in Eastland. He worked for TXDOT for 32 years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and enjoyed farming and deer hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Minnie Arcola Brown. Survivors include his wife, Joan Brown; sons, Clinton Brown & wife Shannon, and Bobby D. Brown; daughters, Berette Hart, and Leanne Gilpin & husband Keith; brothers, Lowell T. Brown & wife Carolyn, and Melvin C. Brown & wife Paula; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren; and special friends at Gentiva Hospice, Paul Lavender, Joe & Wanda Bernier, Becky Casey, and Gary & Diane Stanfield.
Memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice, Meals on Wheels, or to the donor’s favorite charity.
