Cisco Lake to Open - July 1st
The Cisco City Council met on Monday, July 27, to discuss many items on their packed agenda. One visitor's comment early in the evening was concerning the closure of Lake Cisco and a time table for reopening the lake. Inside an agenda item concerning an update on the flooding and water treatment plant, the discussion turned to opening the lake.
After much discussion for and against the opening, a motion was made to open the lake on July 1st with the condition of "no wake" - MEANING boats are to move at the slowest speed possible while still maintaining steerage. The concern is making waves where there is still water flooding some homes. The motion passed, 4 for and 2 against. Swimming and paddle boats are now allowed on the lake as well as boats with the "no wake" condition.
