Local Firefighters Respond To Wildfire Near Cottonwood

“There’s been some smoke reported in between Cisco and Gorman. Better check it out.” Last Saturday a report of smoke quickly turned into a multi-agency response to a sizable wildfire that threatened the small community of Cottonwood. Originally the fire was believed to be in Eastland county, but after a while of following small country roads to locate the source, firefighters called for backup as smoke bellowed hundreds of feet into the air.
