The Now and Then Club

The Now and Then Club met Tuesday, March 14. Paula Carpenter presented Wanda King with quilt pieces that dated back to 1917. The hundred year-old quilt pieces were found in an old cabinet when the Carpenters were remodeling their home a couple of months ago. Wanda, who is an avid quilter, was given the quilt pieces to put together.

Wanda explained that the pieces are actually cut for two quilts; one is for a bow tie and the other is for a ninepiece quilt. She showed how the pieces fit together and also gave members a brief history of quilting. She will be using the pieces to make two special quilts for her newly remodeled bedroom.
