William J. Eakin
On July 14, 2015, William J. Eakin passed away and went to join his son, William Randall Eakin, parents, J.Q. and Alice Eakin, and sister, Verlon Stacey in heaven.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Oakland Cemetery, Comanche County, Texas under the direction of Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home.
William (Bill) J. Eakin was born May 7, 1925 to Jarrett Q. Eakin and Willie Alice Anderson Eakin in Moody, Texas. He served from 1944 until 1946 in the United States Marine Corp and saw action in Okinawa, the Ryukyu Islands, and the Occupation of China. He married Frankie May Eakin November 7, 1947 in Gorman, Texas. They had two children Marshall Elaine and William Randall. William retired from Enserch Production Company after 36 years in the oil production business.
He is survived by his wife, Frank May Eakin; daughter, Elaine Lewallen and her husband John of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, Clay Fischer and wife Toni of Austin, Texas, Beth Zuercher and her husband Rob of Denver, Colorado and nephew, Scott Stacey and wife Nan of Gorman, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made in Bill’s name to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310.
