Frances Irene “Frankie” Boyd

Graveside services for Frances Irene “Frankie” Boyd, 100, of Edgewood, formerly of Cisco, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2015, at Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco with Mr. Shawn Johnson officiating.  Services are  under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

The Lord called her home Monday afternoon, October 5, 2015, in Grand Saline.

Frances was born September 4, 1915, in Cresson, the daughter of James Thomas McCormick and Hattie May Anderson McCormick.  She was raised in Eastland where she graduated as Valedictorian of her senior class.  On June 4, 1949, she married Hugh Boyd and they made their home in Cisco.  They shared their love for Christ through fellowship at the Church of Christ in Cisco, where they were members.  Frankie was a busy housewife to Hugh, who diligently worked at Humble Gas Co. (now Exxon) to support his family.  After retiring from a long career in the gas industry, Hugh went home to be with the Lord on October 23, 1981.  Later, Frankie rekindled an old friendship with Bill Millican who became her best friend and constant companion.  The two shared a love for music.  They often traveled to musicals and festivals, where they thoroughly enjoyed square dancing to bluegrass and western swing music.  Frankie and Bill’s special friendship lasted more than ten years

and remained strong until the Lord called him home in the late 90’s.  A few years later, Frankie moved to Edgewood to be closer to her nieces and other family members.

Frankie is survived by her niece, Marie Clark & husband, Earl; great nieces, Jackie Foster & husband, Tommy and LaQuita Fellers & husband, Buddy.  She is also survived by a host of friends including Calvin & Helen Millican, Tina Pence & son, David and Manuel & Bridgett Florez.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
