Billy Joe Dennis Obituary

   GORMAN- Billy Joe Dennis, age 85 of Gorman, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Good Tree Assisted Living in Stephenville.

  Services were held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Gorman with Barry Schahn officiating.  Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.

   Billy Joe was born September 30, 1929 to Marion Francis Dennis and Annie (Cornwell) Dennis.  He graduated from Gorman High School and also graduated from Ranger Junior College.  He married Norma Joyce Tucker on December 22, 1956 in Eastland, Texas.  She preceded him in death on January 22, 1993.  He later married Betty Sue Sides on October 16, 1993.  Billy Joe retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gorman.

   He is survived by his wife, Betty Sue Dennis of Gorman; two daughters, Norma Joe Dennis of Brownfield and Jackie Lee Sowell and husband, Matt of Cross Plains; one son, Jerry Dennis and wife, Tina of Wellman; three step children, Carol Sue McGinnis and husband, Bill of Granbury, Tammy Jean Middlebrooks and husband, Bobby of Crowley and Matt Lees and wife, Melanie of Waco; one brother, Roy Dennis of Midland; two sisters, Ruth Arnett and husband, Otis of Lubbock and Ruby Lee Kinser and husband, James of Gorman; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

   He was preceded in death by his parents.
