EASTLAND – Billy B. Jordan, age 81, went home to be with his Lord Monday, May 11, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Services for Billy will be 10:30am, Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Eastland with Jim Wright officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-7pm at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland. Burial will be at the Eastland City Cemetery.
Billy was born October 11, 1933 in Eastland, TX, to Jess Y. Jordan, Sr. and Bertha Jane Kellett Jordan. He attended Eastland High School. In 1951 Billy enlisted in the US Navy serving during the Korean War as a Machinist. On April 5, 1956 he married the love of his life, Rita Fox, in Eastland, TX. Billy worked as an Offset Pressman for Victor Cornelius and retired after 48 years with the company.Billy loved the outdoors, doing yardwork or just piddling. He was known as the caregiver of all the widow ladies on his block and was always willing to help anyway he could. In his younger years he loved to bowl and was quite a good bowler. But his main joy in life came from his family. Billy was an avid fan and supporter of his granddaughter’s softball team, the Heartbeats
and never missed a game even if it meant travelingout of state for games. Billy was recently blessed with a great-granddaughter, Chelsi, whom he doted on as a loving great-grandfather should.
Billy is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, RitaFox Jordan, daughter: Cathy Doyle and her husband Jerry, granddaughter: Candi Kanady and her husband Scottie and his precious great-granddaughter, Chelsi Jo Kanady all of Eastland. He is also survived by 2 brothers: Tom Jordan of Hondo, TX and Landon Jordon of Midland, 2 sisters: Mary Maize of Cherryville, MO and Betty Webb of Ovalo, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews.
