HAY! HAY! HAY! TRANSPORT ROLLS FROM COUNTY TO WILDFIRE DISASTER AREA IN PANHANDLE
Trying to beat the rain was uppermost on Bill Riley’s mind when he spoke with Eastland County Today’s Jo Bilby last Friday morning about delivering bales of hay to the Texas Panhandle.
Riley, owner of H & R Feed in Ranger, Texas, started a volunteer project of delivering much needed bales of hay for livestock in devastated Panhandle areas where wildfires burned about 750 square miles in several counties last week. Texas A & M AgriLife Extension estimated over 4,000 large round bales of hay were needed to feed displaced animals over the following weeks.
