Jon Marcus Slaughter December 31, 1959 – September 9, 2015
Mark Slaughter, age 55, of Gatesville passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2015 at Scott’s Funeral Home with Rev. Wray Nunn officiating. Burial followed at 2:00 p.m. at the Eastland City Cemetery in Eastland, TX. Visitation was from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mark was born on December 31, 1959 in Eastland, Texas to John Slaughter and Mary Jo Jesse Slaughter Fox. He graduated from Eastland High School in 1978, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Angelo State in 1986. Mark later received his Nursing Home Administrator license and enjoyed working in nursing homes. Mark also loved to fish and singing on the praise and worship team at Grace Assembly Church. He married Leesa Livingston on October 18, 2006 in Eastland, Texas. Together they were foster parents and adopted two beautiful girls in 2011. Mark is survived by his wife, Leesa Slaughter; mother, Mary Jo Fox; children, Lyssa Slaughter, Ashlynn Slaughter, Tiffany Stewart and husband, Shane, and Jerrod Burkham; and eight grandchildren.
