EASTLAND – Bette Ruth Gray, 87, of Eastland, passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 in Eastland. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:30 AM Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Edwards Funeral Home. Followed by a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Elm Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home Eastland. Bette was born March 1, 1928 in Vernon, Texas to Fred and Edna Thompson. Soon after graduating from Vernon high school she attended TCU in Fort Worth, and Watch Repair School in Comanche, where she met and married James Duncan Gray. Bette was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Eastland, Campers on Mission and Women’s Missionary Union. She was a Vacation Bible School Director, Sunday School Teacher, an ESL Teacher, and was a member of the PTA in Irving, Texas. Survivors include her two daughters; Ruth Ann Gray Trittin and husband John H. Trittin and Elizabeth Jean Gray Darnell and husband Ray Darnell; son James Anthony Gray and wife Rebecca Gray, 4 grandchildren; Kelly, Raleigh, Rena, and Ella, and soon to be Great Grandson.
