Rising Star was very busy Saturday, December 6, as people turned out for the Hometown Christmas and Tree Lighting celebration. The Open Air Market attracted a number of people who shopped with vendors and local merchants, and Santa made a stop at the Hughes Downtown Park to visit with children. The band entertained the crowd with holiday music and the festivities concluded with the lighting of the Christmas tree.
