Mavericks Season Comes To A Close Too Early

It has been a great first year under new head coach Cliff Watkins as the Mavericks made it to the regional quarterfinals but came up just a little bit short after a valiant effort against the Sonora Broncos Friday afternoon in Sweetwater. Eastland was seeking a rematch with local county team Cisco but it wasn’t to be as Eastland fell 42- 37 after leading late in the third quarter. For the game, Eastland amassed 454 yards of total offense with 384 coming through the air and 70 yards on the ground.
