Mavs Win Bi-district, Move On To Next Round

The Eastland Mavericks continued on to the next round of the state playoffs with a dominant win over the Tulia Hornets in Snyder Friday night with a 30-6 win with the only points for Tulia coming off of an interception return by the Hornet defense. Eastland was paced on the night by an offense that would total 378 yards with the bulk of that coming on the ground. The “O” would show great maturity in overcoming four turnovers including a fumble on the opening kickoff giving the Hornets great field position. The Maverick defense responded with an interception of their own at the three yard line on fourth down. Eastland would then put together a 97-yard scoring drive and never looked back.
