Mavs Keep Streak Alive, Move To 8-0

The Eastland Mavericks stay unbeaten in district play and on the season to keep in the race for the district title on the 2014 season with a 33-14 win over the one loss Henrietta Bearcats Friday evening at Maverick Stadium. Eastland would put up 33 points with the defense scoring twice on an interception return and a fumble return. Offensively, Eastland would total 377 yards of offense for the evening. Hayden Carr, making his second start would complete 15 of 26 passes for 234 yards and 2 touchdowns and would add an additional 30 yards on the ground for the evening. Matt Majors would lead all receivers with 108 yards on 5 receptions and account for the 2 touchdowns. Brant Bailey would have six receptions for 79 yards followed by Deric Stacy with 2 catches for 30 yards and Caleb Honea with 2 catches for 18 yards. The Mavs were led in the rushing attack by Honea who had 15 carries for 108 yards and Dylan Miller added 5 more yards on two carries to top off the Maverick rushing attack.
