Sets Up District Showdown With Cisco

The Eastland Mavericks took another step towards the playoffs and secured a spot in the annual march toward the state title with a 45-6 win over the Nocona Indians Friday night in Nocona. The win moves the Mavs overall record to 9-0 and 6-0 in district. On the night, Eastland would total 414 yards with a very balanced attack, 211 coming on the ground and 203 coming through the air and the defense would turn in another stellar performance to keep the Mavs perfect in district and perfect on the season. The game to determine the district championship coming up this Friday night in Eastland is against the defending state champion Cisco Loboes, who will come to town also sporting a perfect record in both district play and on the season.
