Grass Fire Threatens Homes Near Cisco

Grassfire threatens homes near Cisco today.

A fast moving grass fire, pushed by high winds, threatened homes near Cisco today.  The wildfire started at about 2:30 this afternoon, just South of Interstate 20 and near County Road 129.  Firefighters responded from Cisco, Eastland, Carbon, and Gorman and it took them about 90 minutes to control the blaze, which consumed about 20 acres.  Homeowners in the path of the fire used bulldozers, garden hoses, and shovels to protect their property.  Fortunately no homes were damaged in this fire.
