Rising Star secured a playoff spot last week with their win over Sidney. Good thing they didn’t have to win their last game. The Wildcats turned the ball over 7 times (5 fumbles and 2 INT) in their loss to the Blanket Tigers last Friday, 60-12. The Tigers were led by Eddie Hernandez who rushed for 138 yards and scored 6 times. 4 of his touchdowns were in the first quarter from 5, 11, 12, and 30 yards. The lone bright spot in the first quarter for the Wildcats was a 21-yard pass from Ben Boucher to Jose Martinez. The Rising Star score actually tied the game at 6 with 7 minutes left to play in the quarter. Hernandez then scored 3 straight times.
