Manuel B. Hernandez, Sr. Obituary

   RANGER – Manuel B. Hernandez, Sr passed away at home with his family by his side on Wednesday, March 23, 2016.  

   Visitation will be Monday, 5~7 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger with Rosary beginning at 7 p.m.  

   Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rita’s Catholic Church followed by burial in the Evergreen Cemetery.

     Manuel was born on June 17, 1926 in Ranger to Santos and Costancia Hernandez.  He married Simona

Tonche on December 26, 1945 in Ranger.  They were happily married for 68 years.  Manuel worked for

Union Pacific Railroad for 42 years, and retired in 1987.  He was a loving husband and father.

     Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Simona Tonche Hernandez; 3 brothers, 2 sisters.

     He is survived by a brother, Johnny Lomeli; and sister, Lucy Bermuvez; daughters, Bertha Figley and

husband Jack, and Mary Louise Hernandez; sons, Earnest Hernandez, Manuel Hernandez, Jr. and wife

Kristi, and Santos Hernandez.  Manuel is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Many and wife Amy, Mandi Marie Bethea,

Markus and wife Areli, and Diego Hernandez; and 6 wonderful great-grandchildren.
