Judge Rex Fields Presents County News and Facts To Ranger Lions

Ranger Lions Club welcomed several visitors at the October 23rd meeting: Jill Nelson from North Carolina, mother of Lion Cherie Beltran; Jonathon Gunstanson, son of Lion President Gerald Gunstanson; and County Judge Rex Fields, who gave the program. Judge Fields began by commenting on the exceptionally good meal catered by Great Western Dining. He then presented news and facts from around Eastland County, including the beautiful new safety rest areas near Ranger on I-20 to be completed in 2015, a new terminal to be built at the Eastland Municipal Airport (groundbreaking is Oct. 30th), a 48 apartment complex planned for construction in Cisco, the opening of the Ben Carson Reading Room at Gorman ISD (the only one of its kind in rural Texas), a citizen’s action program in Rising Star to clean up properties, and the Texas Historical Marker dedication at the Old Jail in Carbon.
