GRAPEVINE – William “Bill” Moreland, age 81, went home to be with his Lord March 25, 2015 in Baylor Hospital in Grapevine, TX. Services for Bill were held at 10am Saturday, March 28 at the Lake Leon Baptist Church south of Eastland, TX, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland. Visitation will be at 9am before the service. Burial will be at 3:30pm at the Edgewood Cemetery in Lancaster, TX. Bill was born June 5, 1933 in Lancaster to Turney Augusta Moreland and Viola Caroline Harral Moreland. Bill attended North Texas State University, University of Guam and East Texas State University where he earned his Master’s degree in Education. On February 14, 1960 he married the love of his life, the beautiful Sylvia Alford in Lancaster. Bill worked as a teacher for many years before retiring and living at Lake Leon. While living at the lake Bill was a member of the Lake Leon Baptist Church where he served as the minister of music. A little over 2 years ago Bill and Sylvia moved to Grapevine to be closer to their children and grandchildren. There he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grapevine, TX. Bill loved the Lord and his family and left many friends behind. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Turney and Viola Moreland. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sylvia, 3 sons: William Moreland, Jr, Robert Moreland, and Erick Moreland, and 1 daughter Kara Moreland. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren.
