Thelma Katherine (Rachel) Smith

 

   CISCO- Thelma Katherine (Rachel) Smith, 96, of Cisco, passed from this life on March 23, 2016. Memorial Service was held at 1:30 P.M. Monday, March 28, 2016 at  

First United Methodist Church officiated by Reverend Bruce Stovall and Reverend Danny Pelton under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home of Cisco.

Private Graveside service was held Monday at Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco.

 

   Thelma was born August 8, 1920 to John Everett and Hattie (Large) Rachel in Sipe Springs, Texas in Eastland County. She married Woodrow Wilson Smith

on September 9, 1939 in Carbon, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1994. She kept books for her husband’s business; Wilson Smith’s Service Station

in Cisco for many years and was a homemaker taking care of her family. Thelma was a member of the Eastern Star, and had attended the First United Methodist

Church some 80 years. She also taught Sunday school for many years.

 

   Survivors are two sons: Bobby Smith and wife Beverly of Cisco and Homer Smith and wife Jamie of Houston. Four grandchildren: Stacey McIlroy and husband

Charles, Christy Byrd and husband Tom, Robert Smith and wife Kristine, and Meg Gonzales and husband Mark.  Fourteen great grandchildren:

Rachel Byrd, Tommy Byrd, Alec Byrd, Grace Byrd, Zak Smith, Madison Smith, Brant Smith, Meg Smith, Morgan Inman, Caitlin Inman, Abby McIlroy, Will McIlroy, Jake Gonzales,

and Sam Gonzales, Spence Adams, Annie Adams, and Tiffany Bauman.
