Edna Faye Harris, a longtime resident of Cisco, passed away on Thursday August 14, 2014. Visitation will be at Kimbrough Funeral Home, Cisco on Friday from 5 until 7PM. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday August 16, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, Cisco with Reverend Zach Tunnell and Reverend Ronnie Shackelford officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hwy 2526 south of Cisco.

 

Mrs. Harris was born on July 31, 1923 in Nolan County, TX and lived most of her life on a farm south of Cisco and in Cisco. She married Earl Harris on September 23, 1940. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 57 years, a ten year old son Bobby Carl Harris, her birth mother Eula Tartar Wilson, her parents Fred and Verna Wilson, four brothers Dean, Wayne, Max and Jackie Wilson and one sister Bertha Ann Wilson.

Mrs. Harris is survived by sons Charles Harris and wife Diann of Waco and Gary Harris and wife Kathy of Cisco, two grandsons Don Harris and wife Sarah of Arlington and Bobby Harris of Plano, two granddaughters Cheryl Bloom and husband Darrin of Pflugerville and Lucinda Harris of Tyler and five great-grandchildren Victoria and Meredith Harris of Arlington and Mackenzie, Peyton and Derek Bloom of Pflugerville.

Mrs. Harris is also survived by four brothers Jerry Wilson and wife Lydia of Houston, Herman Wilson and wife Judy of Wichita Falls, Jimmy Wilson and wife Carolyn of Cross Plains, Billy Wilson and wife Jo of Stephenville, four sisters Linda Oates and husband Larry of Plano, Sandra Puntney and husband Michael of Mansfield, Joan Gerhardt and husband Larry of Cisco, Jane McIntire and husband Marcus of Cisco, a sister-in-law, Joyce Harris Fleming of Clyde and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Harris was member of Calvary Baptist Church, Cisco for many years and prior to that, a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was a faithful worker in the church. She taught Sunday School for many years.

Mrs. Harris was a homemaker and helped her husband with farm work, especially during the harvest season. She also sewed gloves at a local factory and worked as a clerk in Gary’s drug store. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, writing poetry and quilting. She especially loved reading her Bible and devotional books. During retirement years, Mrs. Harris and her husband, Earl, enjoyed RV camping and fishing at several lakes in Texas, Arkansas and Colorado.

Mrs. Harris has blessed her family and friends with many acts of kindness and has created many fond memories. Her living body has left this world, but she will live on in the heart of everyone who loved and appreciated her.
