Russell Lee Fuller

Russell Lee Fuller, 72,of Robinson passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at a local hospital.   Funeral services were  eld 10am Saturday, August 22 at Mooreville United Methodist Church with interment followed at 3 pm at Oaklawn Cemeteryin Gorman. The family received visitors Friday, August 21 from 6-8pm at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco. Russell was raised on a peanut farm north of Gorman by his parents, Quincy and Viola Fuller. He attended Gorman public schools, graduating in 1961. Russell went on to graduate from McMurry College in 1965. He was a Band Director and History teacher in the Texas townsof Bronte, Aspermont, Gorman, Goldthwaite, Falls City, Tahoka, Wink, Bastrop, and Mart before retiring in 1995. Russell’s love of music began quite young. He hitch-hiked from Gorman to Brownwood to purchase his first trumpet. He changed the lives of so many students and taught some of the   inest high school bands in the state. Russell also instilled the love of music in his children. He loved lassical music, old-time country and marches. Russell loved baseball from an early age, playing little league through teenage  league teams, following up with coaching over the years. His favorite teams were the St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers, with his favorite player being Stan Musial. He also enjoyed watching   western movies and TV  hows, playing golf, attending  band concerts and marching contests, and couch-coaching the Dallas Cowboys football team after he retired. He loved traveling with his family on vacations across the U.S. and Canada as they were growing up to teach them about the different parts of the country. He  as a strong supporter of the idea of America and was a true patriot. Russell is preceded in death by his parents; Quincy Donald Fuller, Viola Vida Fuller, brothers; Claude Fuller, Milford Fuller, Wilford Fuller, Boby Gene Fuller, Infant Boy Fuller, and sister; Maxine Dennis. Russell is survived by his wife; Martha Fuller, children; Kami Fuller and Jonathan Yates, Klay Fuller, sis rs; Lorene Eldridge, and Arlene Hooper.   Memorials may be made in Mr. Russell Fuller’s name to Mooreville United Methodist Church, 206 FM 2643, Chilton, Tx  76632 or to the charity of your choice.
