Robert Joe Harris Bratton began his journey on Sunday, February 15, 2015 due to the disease of cancer. Bob was born on September 7, 1943 and shared his childhood with his parents J.H. Bratton Jr. & Rozie Myatt Bratton. Bob made many memories with his family on Victoria Street in Abilene. Bob shared his life with a loving wife of 35 years Marsha Bagley Bratton and their 3 sons and 2 daughter in laws- Tad Bratton of Dripping Springs, Scott & Staci Bratton of Cypress and Zachary & Darbi Bratton of Merkel. He laughed with 5 grandchildren and was known as "Pops" to Taylorand his fiancé Ashley Martin , Travis, Drew, Tatum & Lilli and was blessed to have known 1 great grandchild, Isabella. Bob also shared his love with two sisters and brother in laws- Sharolette & Don Savage of Rendon and Pat & Curtis Potter of
Abilene. Bob was spoiled and loved by his grandparents J.H. Sr. & Nannie Bratton of Abilene and Joe & Willie Myatt of Abilene. Bob had loving in laws who served as second parents-Troyce & Jeanette Bagley of Merkel. Bob's profession in life was a tile contractor. The art of tile was taught to him by his granddad, father and uncles since Bob was a toddler. Besides his family and friends his love was West Texas dove hunting, Colorado Elk hunting, Louisiana duck hunting, Cisco water skiing and hooking bass. His favorite however was trout fishing in Pecos New Mexico in the Santa Fe National Forest. Past times also included his grill on wheels while smoking "that meat" and fellowship of friends & family around bonfires. He also was known for cooking a whole hog for the annual Bratton Easter Egg Hunt. Bob will be cremated and a "memory time" will be held April 18, 2015 at 1 p.m.. Everyone who knew Bob and has a memory to share is encouraged to attend the celebration of Bob's life. May God bless all his family and friends that he has left behind and those that preceded him in death. None are forgotten and are forever in our hearts. God bless the nurses and doctors on the 7th floor at Hendricks known as Hospice, they are truly walking angels.
