Mavericks Need OT To Defeat Lions

Before Friday’s games, there was a 3-way tie for 1st place in District 8 AAA… Breckenridge, Eastland and Dublin were all at 2-1. Two of those teams, the Mavs and Lions battled in Dublin on Friday evening. The Mavericks were up late in the game by 2 points when the Lions were able to hit a late shot and tie the game, sending it into overtime. In OT, Matt Majors took the game over, hitting 3 shots from the field and draining a free throw to help the Mavs take home the win, 40-35.
