FORT WORTH, Texas -- Max Pierce, 76, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015.
       Celebration of life: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, in Greenwood Chapel, Fort Worth. Interment: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Lane C. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 6 at Greenwood Chapel.
       Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to TCU Athletic Department or to HNST, 1840 E. Lancaster, Fort Worth, Texas 76103, attn: Donor Services.
       Max was born Aug. 19, 1938, in Albany, Texas, to Mary Tom and Robert Pierce. Max was a graduate of Gorman High School. He then received a football scholarship to TCU graduating in 1961. From that point on, he became an avid Frog fan and supporter. Max was a member of the Alumnae Association, Frog Club as well as the Ex-Lettermen's Association. While at TCU, he was a member of Phi Delta Theta. Upon graduation, he received his commission in the USAF. After 26 years of service, he retired as a colonel from Carswell Air Force Base as the commander of the 7th Combat Support Group in Fort Worth. In addition he was a combat pilot in Vietnam for more than three years. After retirement from the military, he began his second career as an agent with New York Life. During his 30-year tenure he obtained membership as an agent in the Million Dollar Round Table.
       Max loved life, animals, his country, his family and his lifelong friends. He will be missed by all that knew him.
       Survivors: Wife, Charlotte Pierce; daughters, Shannon Pennington, Meg Faires, Leslee Lewis and Amy Faires; grandchildren, Robert Henry, Carter and Lauren.
