Freddie R. McMullen Obituary

   Freddie R. McMullen, age 85 of Amarillo, passed away November 4, 2015. 

   He was a long time resident of Clovis, NM where he retired from K. Barnett & Sons after approximately 40 years of employment.  He was affectionately known as “Freddie The Free Loader.” 

   Mr. McMullen entered the Air Force in December 1949 and was given honorable discharge October 1953.

   Graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015  in Oaklawn Cemetery, Gorman, Texas with Doyle Corder of Southwest Church of Christ in Amarillo officiating.  Services under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Home in Gorman.

   Mr. McMullen was born, August 5, 1930 in Gorman, Texas to Archie McMullen and Mary Hodges McMullen.  He married Ruth Tuttle on November 24, 1958.  Ruth was deceased October 31, 1982.  Fred Married Mary Newman on May 27, 1987.  Mary lost her battle with cancer September 13, 2008.

   He is survived by two stepdaughters and  two stepsons,  Laraine “Newman” Scott and husband, Hanson, Yvonne Tuttle Cobb,  Randy Newman, Jerry Newman and wife, Marsha; survivers also include two nieces and one nephew; Jerry Frasier and wife, Nora, Jo Carey and husband, Dan, and Freida Harrison and husband, Harold.

   He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Maxine Frasier of DeLeon.
