Eugene Wilson Oatman

CISCO-Eugene Wilson Oatman, age 101 passed away February 26, 2015 in Cisco, Texas. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Loving Baptist Church with interment in the Farmer Cemetery. Family visitation was from 6-7:30 PM Sunday at McMillan- Satterwhite Funeral Home. Mr. Oatman was born January 15, 1914 to Jesse  Walter and Eva Ethel Tedrow Oatman. He was a long time resident of Young County and lived in the area most of his life. He graduated from Graham High School and attended Texas A&M at Arlington. He married Ruby Jewel Teague December 29, 1935 in the First Baptist Pastorium in Graham. He was an evangelistic singer, deacon, Veteran of World War II, a farmer and rancher, a charter member of Young County 4-H, member of the Cattle Raisers Assn. and the Loving Baptist Church. He also served in the Baptist Association as Vice Moderator, Music Director and with Baptist Men on Mission. Survivors include a son, Wilson Oatman and wife Katherine of Loving; a daughter, Elizabeth Nichols of Cisco; 5 grandchildren, Paul Oatman, Timothy Oatman, Alicia Oatman Padron, Jennifer Nichols Burke and Julie Nichols Rust; brother, Bert Oatman of Lubbock, Texas; 2 great grandchildren, Emery Jewel Oatman and Cooper Aaron Rust; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Jewel Oatman, two brothers, J.W. and Bob Oatman, a sister Gladys Sartain and by his son in law, Bennie Lee Nichols.
