EASTLAND – Edith Mae Hall, 94 of Eastland went home to be with her Lord Sunday, February 22, 2015. Services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Eastland City Cemetery. Edith was born February 20, 1921 in Alluwe, OK to Rhemus and Lelia Durham Johnston. After graduating from High School, she attended college for a year before going to Beautician School. She met and married the love of her life Richard “Dick” Hall on January 1, 1939 in Henrietta, TX. Dick and Edith were adventurous and moved around often, finally settling for a number of years in Montrose, CO. While there, Edith found employment with Colorado Ute as a bookkeeper where she worked until her retirement in 1983. Dick and Edith moved to Eastland about 15 years ago and were members of the Bethel Baptist Church. Edith loved her church and was responsible for making the church bulletins and sending out cards for her Sunday school class. She also loved crafts and was very creative with her crochet, making beautiful flowers to adorn the many cards she sent to her friends and family. Everyone who knew Edith loved her and called her “Grandmother” because of her sweet and gentle nature. Edith is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 60 years, Dick Hall. Edith is survived by one daughter, Linda Hassell of San Tan Valley, AZ, grandchildren: Robert and Guy Hassell, great grandchildren: Anastasia Loper, Corey and Cameron Hassell, step-grandchild, Jan Thomas, and step-great grandchild, Connor DuBois.
