Betty L. Hagaman Doebbler

Betty L Hagaman Doebbler, 81, of Huntsville, Texas passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016, surrounded by her family.  

She was born December 23rd, 1934 in Ranger, Texas, the daughter of Leslie Hillsman and Helen Howdeshell Hagaman.  She grew up in Ranger and graduated from Ranger High School in 1952. 

She then attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri before graduating from the University of Texas 1957.  On August 31, 1957 she married Thomas Doebbler.  

Betty worked in administrative jobs, settling on education, and teaching.  She worked at the University of Houston, finally retiring from HISD as an administrator. 

However, Betty was always furthering her education by educating herself, her children and most importantly her grandchildren.  Betty and John Hagaman (brother)

established the Helen and Leslie Hagaman Scholarship Fund to support the future dreams of Ranger High School Seniors.

Betty was an avid reader, and had a talent for acting and music.  In fact when you sat around her in church each Sunday you were graced with her beautiful voice. 

She loved people from all walks of life, and she was loved by everyone she meet.  Betty was a Christian with great faith; she instilled her Christian values in her children.     

She is survived by the love of her life Tom Doebbler, daughter Leslie French (Clive) Twyman of Georgetown TX, son Drew (Dina) Doebbler of Pasadena TX, and

daughter Robin (Jesus) Tellez of Kingwood TX. Grandchildren Alex Crago, Vincent Doebbler, Jessika (Justin) Watson, Errika Tellez, Georgianna Doebbler, Adrian Tellez,

Dominic Doebbler, Cade Null, Anthony Tellez, Hunter Null, Ryleigh Doebbler, and Ashley, Dylan, and Blake Twyman.  

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, sister Francis Markham and brother John Hagaman.

Serving as pallbearers are Clive Twyman, Jesus Tellez, Alex Crago, Vincent Doebbler, Dominic Doebbler, and Anthony Tellez.  

Honorary pallbearers are Philip Whitlow, Kurt Filer, Adrian Tellez, and Cade and Hunter Null.  

Visitation (5:00 – 7:00) followed by rosary (7:00 – 8:00) will be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 Normal Park, Huntsville, TX 77340 on Thursday, July 21, 2016;

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 on Friday, July 22, 2016 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1603 Ave N, Huntsville, TX 77340.  Graveside services will be

Saturday, July 23, 2016; 10:00 Evergreen Cemetery, Ranger, TX.
