Anna Louise Spence Obituary
Anna Louise Spence, age 92 of Gorman, passed away, Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Weatherford Regional Medical Center.
Service was held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with Daryl Hirst officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Spence was born July 28, 1923 in Gorman, Texas, to Bedford Horatio Butler and Ila Fay (Pittman) Butler. She graduated from Gorman High School and attended college for two years. She married James Curtis Spence on April 10, 1951 in De Leon, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1982. Anna worked for the First National Bank in Gorman as a cashier for nineteen years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Although she had no children of her own, she considered her nieces and nephews as her own.
She is survived by one niece and three nephews, Anna Lee Roberts of Gorman; Mark Sessum and wife, Rosemary of Gorman, Bill Sessum and wife, Leah of Mineral Wells and Kenneth Butler of Houston; and numerous great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Curtis Spence, brother, Arnold Butler and sister, Parilee Sessum.
