As spring is here, the uncontrolled growth of weeds and brush creates an all too familiar problem. This unsightly growth creates the possibility for fires to take place as well as provide handy breeding grounds for rodents and insects.

The City of Rising Star has an Ordinance which requires the property owner to control the growth of weeds and brush on their property so that at no time are there more than 12 inches in height. Each of us appreciates the rights and privileges of property ownership; therefore, we must also accept the responsibilities along with these rights.
