CLEAN UP EFFORTS-COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

RISING STAR CITY WIDE CLEAN UP

SATURDAY, MAY 14, 2016

AT CITY LOT ON PIONEER STREET

GATE OPENS AT 8 AM SATURDAY

BRING PROOF OF CITY UTILITY BILL

In lieu of fines under the City of Rising Star’s Ordinance, we would like to give the citizens of our City an opportunity to clean up our town.

We feel this will work if everyone participates in the cleanup efforts.  If not, the City will begin enforcing the Ordinance and issue fines.

For several years there have been many many letters mailed to homeowners to clean their property and remove junk vehicles.  This is very time consuming.  Some owners will clean their property and others make an attempt, but it is evident that within a short time it deteriorates back to the same eyesore.  When you drive down our residential streets it is so sad to see some of the properties that have trash strung throughout the yard, high grass and weeds, all kinds of debris, and junked vehicles.  This is not only an eyesore, but a health and safety hazard, a breeding place for all kinds of animals and insects.  It would take little effort to clean and pick up.  Wouldn’t it be so great to drive down each block and see each property clean and free of junked vehicles.

The City Council urges each citizen of our town to participate in the efforts to make Rising Star a more beautiful and safer place in which to live.

Can you just imagine what our “Small Town with a Big Twinkle” would look like if each and every one would take and interest and really work hard to make a difference in their property.

So, let’s all work together to clean up our town and make Rising Star the most beautiful place to live.

It will take each homeowner on every block to take care of their own yards and also help their neighbors.
