REP-ELECT LANG ISSUES STATEMENT ON DALLAS POLICE SHOOTING
I am in continual prayer for the DART and DPD officers who lost their lives last night in Dallas, as well as their families, friends, and the brave men and women who served alongside of them. Last night in Dallas,
many brave officers ran toward the shooting to protect and defend innocent people. That is their job. I continue to thank God for the men and women who choose law enforcement as their career. I believe that, for
most officers, it is a calling because the actual daily sacrifices and potential sacrifices are greater than many can imagine. If we lose our police, we as a civil society are finished.
As a 30-year retired law enforcement officer, I served with the most reputable men and women you will ever find. We all had the same goal: protect all the people and our brothers and sisters in Blue. There was no
difference for color, creed, sex, or religion; everyone was the same. Law enforcement officers are embedded in our communities to protect and defend the people and enforce the laws of Texas and the United States.
Over the last seven years, President Obama has demonstrated a disdain and total lack of respect for law enforcement. This disdain fuels hatred against police officers and also breeds division in race relations.
President Obama and his sycophants perpetuate hatred and division against law enforcement to further their agenda of breaking down the U.S. Constitution and the United States.
We now live in the instant information age. I see individuals taking to social media, spouting misinformation and hatred when they don’t have the true facts. Unfortunately for many onlookers who are deceived:
if you say the lie enough it becomes truth.
What are we to do? Are we as Christians (Believers) willing to lose Everything to do what is right in the eyes of God? We are faced not only with a spiritual war but also a physical war. The battle is against
Evil not flesh and blood. Where are the Churches and Pastors standing against evil? Most Christians and Churches have stayed comfortably insulating themselves from this conflict. We can’t wrap ourselves
in isolation any longer! God has bigger plans for us.
I received a plaque for 16 years of service on the SWAT Team. The inscription upon it reads, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing -Edmund Burke.” We as a society can’t
stay here. We as a people cannot stand passively-condoning evil.
Both wars have always been here. Many more people saw this last night in Dallas. If you are a spiritual person you will not lose hope. My continued prayers are with the officers, their families, and all law
enforcement personnel.
A POLICE OFFICER'S PRAYER:
Lord I ask for courage. Courage to face and conquer my own fears... Courage to take me where others will not go... I ask for strength. Strength of body to protect others and strength of spirit to lead others...
I ask for dedication. Dedication to my job, to do it well. Dedication to my community to keep it safe... Give me Lord, concern for others who trust me and compassion for those who need me...
Please Lord, through it all, be at my side. --Author Unknown
