J.S. Ripley Obituary

   J. S. Ripley, age 80 of Gorman, passed away, Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.

   Service will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Higginbotham  Funeral Home Chapel with David Currie and Craig Rhoton officiating.

   Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

   J. S. was born August 29, 1935 in Stephenville,  Texas  to John Ambrose Ripley and Alma Maureen (Hicks) Ripley. He graduated from De Leon High School in 1953.  J. S. married Glenda Reese

on July 26, 1981 in Arlington, Texas.  

   J. S. worked for Texas Electric for 35 years before retiring in 1992.  He went back to work for Texas Electric in 2001, working as a consultant for ten years.

   Survivors include his, wife, Glenda Ripley of Gorman; two sons, Jeff Ripley and wife, Tina of Franklin and Tony Ripley and wife, Vickie of Maypearl; one step-son, Rodney Reese of Fort Worth; brother, Joe Dean Ripley

and wife, Jackie of De Leon; seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Dorotha Sikes and daughter, Kathy.
