Glenda Gaye Boren

Glenda Gaye Boren, age 67 of San Angelo, passed away, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Tyler, Texas.

 

Ms. Boren was born November 9, 1948 in Burnett, Texas to Damon Maurice Smith and Gracie May (Hilliard) Smith. She had earned a Secretarial Degree from

Central Texas Commercial College, formerly in Brownwood, Texas. She was a secretary for the Department of Human Services for twenty-five years. She thought of

First Baptist in Gorman as her church home.  

 

She loved to travel with her best friend Loretta Gravell. Her grandkids held a special place in her heart.  She loved attending their baseball, softball, and basketball games.

She also loved attending band concerts and dance recitals. Her brother is a popular DJ in San Angelo, and she faithfully listened to his morning show. Above all, she loved

the Lord, and was an excellent mother. Her warm smile and gentle manner will be greatly missed.

 

She is survived by one daughter, Angela Clark and husband, Jeff of De Leon; dear friend, Loretta Gravell of San Angelo; brother, Gaylian Smith (Chuck Baker) of San Angelo;

three grandchildren, Brandon Garrett Velasquez of Comanche, Emma Angeline Clark of De Leon and Hayden Jeff Clark of De Leon; one great grandson, Slayton Scott Velasquez

of Bowie; one niece, Me’Shelle Edmondson of Tom Ball; one great niece, Madeline De Beer of Tom Ball and one great nephew, Andrew Edmondson of Tom Ball. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents.
