Rain Can Not Stop Enthusiastic BBQ Cooks

Rain, wind, or storm couldn’t hold back BBQ cooking teams nor a crowd of visitors at the 2016 annual Rip’s Ribs Cook Off Saturday. The BBQ chefs were busy competing for prizes, hoping to make the event’s most delicious St. Louis Style pork ribs. The top five winning teams were: Ist Prize - Mudflap - Kyle Bryan, Abilene, 2nd Rollin’ Smoke - Cole Jordan, Decator, 3rd Saltydog - Bud Crippen, Mineral Wells, Hotspot - Wesley Jones, Lubbock, and Smokin’ Bryans - Randy Bryan, Gorman. Celebrity Judges were Alex Terrell Russell, David Bacon, and Mike Barnes. A variety of bands played for everyone’s enjoyment and Eastland County’s Circle M Bar-B-Que catered a meal of ribs and all the fixings following the judging.
