Kevin Downing had only been a name on a political yard sign before last Friday when Dr. Campion, president of Ranger College invited Editor Margaret Hetrick and this scribe to a sit-down, get-acquainted session at the school. It was a pleasant and informative visit. Mr. Downing had been described to us and confirmed, as a community banker who lives in Hood County, running for the seat which will be vacated by State Rep. Jim Keffer, who did not file for re-election.
