David L. Hodges Obituary

   David L. Hodges, 73, of Eastland and formerly of Lubbock passed from this life January 29, 2015 in an Abilene Hospital. David was born February 22, 1941 in St Louis Missouri the son of Cleophus and Earlene (Griffin) Hodges. He attended Abilene Schools and Graduated from Abilene High School Class of 1959 and later Attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock. David married Jane Ann Richardson in 1965 in Lubbock and this year would have celebrated 50 years together. David was a Veteran having served from 1966 to 1969 with the U.S. Army in Viet Nam. David was a major employer in Lubbock having operated an Independent Insurance agency. He is known for his incredible work ethic and honest business practices. Anyone who spent a short time with him would say they learned something from him. David spent most of his free time working on his Ranch in Eastland.

   Survivors include his wife Jane of Eastland; sons John David Hodges and wife Chantal and Mark Thomas Hodges and wife Lisa of Lubbock; sister Nedra Cummings and Jayme Mathis; also several nieces and nephews.

   A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Monterey Baptist in Lubbock. The Visitation will be 5PM until 7 PM Sunday, Feb. 1st at Kimbrough Funeral Home in Cisco, Texas. The Family and Friends will meet at Corinth Baptist church in Cisco for lunch at noon on Monday.  Graveside services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Wayland Cemetery in Stephens County directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home.
