Gosnell returns to spark Mavs, win Area Round

The Eastland Mavericks kept pace with the last three years winning the area round in convincing fashion over previously unbeaten Coleman, 38-28, Friday night at Willford Moore Stadium on the campus of McMurry University. Eastland had to come from behind after trailing 21-17 at the half and would take the lead for good on the first drive of the second half. The Mavs gave the Bluecats more than they could handle with aggressive hard hitting defense, holding one of the leading rushers in the area and one of the leading offenses in the area to just 88 yards in the second half. Eastland again featured a very balanced offensive attack and with the return of season starting quarterback Josh Gosnell, seem to be getting healthy and getting back on track at just the right time.
