Retired Teachers’ Memorable Meeting At Eastland County Museum
Jeanie Griffin’s presentation of “Our Lives, Our Story: America’s Greatest Generation” at the Eastland County Museum to forty retired teachers and guests was unforgettable. She made history come alive as she pointed out large displays of Eastland County memorabilia from the World War II era. Jeanie was introduced by Sandy Goode. Jeanie gave personal accounts of sacrificial service from Eastland County residents, including those who gave their lives to ensure the freedom we enjoy today. One display, extremely personal to her; portrayed her mother’s brother, who was killed during World War II. It included a blowup of an envelope the family received three days after he died.
