Comptroller Distributes $586 Million in Sales Tax Revenue

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar recently announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $585.6 million in local sales tax allocations for March, 0.7 percent less than in March 2015. These allocations are based on sales made in January by businesses that report tax monthly. “Energy-centric cities, such as Odessa, Midland, Corpus Christi and Houston, continued to see decreases in sales tax allocations,” Hegar said.
