Comptroller Distributes $617 Million in Monthly Sales Tax Revenue

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $617.2 million in local sales tax allocations for January, 0.1 percent less than in January 2015. These allocations are based on sales made in November by businesses that report tax monthly. Hegar also said that sales tax revenue for the state in December was $2.33 billion, down 1.1 percent compared to December 2014.
