Move To 5-0, 2-0 In District Play

It was a close contest Friday night at Maverick Stadium for 21 of the first 24 minutes of the game until the Mavericks put together a couple of scoring drives right at the end of the first half. City View had taken a 15-14 lead with just a couple of minutes left in the half. A quick score put the Mavericks on top followed by a muffed kick recovered by Eastland at the City View 45 yard line. A oneplay 45 yard touchdown to Caleb Honea put Eastland ahead by 14 points going into the half and they never looked back. On the evening, Eastland would rack up 628 yards of total offense on sixty plays. 343 yards on the multiple front rushing attack and 285 coming through the air on the way to a 57-28 drubbing of the City View Mustangs from Wichita Falls.
