Former Cisco Animal Control Officer Tucker dies in KY Accident

Cliff Tucker of Cisco passed away and a second person was seriously injured after a crash on Kentucky 80 in Laurel County.

Kentucky State Police say a tanker truck and a Tucker’s collided on Kentucky 80 around mile marker 8 near London around noon on Sunday.

According to the police, Tucker’s car was heading east on Kentucky 80 when he attempted to make a U-turn. Investigators say the car then pulled into the path of the tanker truck, which was heading west.

State Police say the tanker truck was carrying 8,000 gallons of gasoline. However, troopers say none the gasoline spilled onto the roadway.

The Laurel County Coroner says Tucker was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman, Martha Sosa Jackson who is from Arizona, who was a passenger in the car was airlifted to UK Hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the semi was not injured. State Police say the tanker truck was on its way to Somerset from Knoxville.

Tucker spent about 7 years as the Cisco Animal Control officer.  He loved the Lord and was a diligent scholar of the Word.  Services are yet to be announced.
