Sexual Assault- What If It Happened To You?

What if you were a victim of sexual assault and somebody else got to determine the impact it had on you? How would you feel if somebody else got to judge your victimization depending on your injuries? How would you feel if nobody believed you due to no visible physical injuries? This happens more often than it should. As a victim advocate at the Eastland County Crisis Center, I have seen this happen multiple times. If a victim has no visible physical injuries then the attack must have not been that serious.
